NL - Keukenhof

Timeline - May 2018
Tripmates - Solo

Keukenhof - The Tulip garden to visit atleast once in lifetime. I went on the last day of the season of 2018 and not so bad.

Though the fields were all empty, the garden had some Tulips beholding the colourful feel. I bought the 18 Euro entrance ticket at he Schipol airport the previous day fearing long queues the next day as it was last day. Reached by bus from the Schipol airport to Keukenhof by 8:30 and roamed all around at will. There are housed displays across hosting exotic flower collections and great photographic opportunities if you are attracted towards flowers.

Colourful Tulips and windmills give nice mingling with nature and once can just get lost with it. Overall, spent couple of hours. There are some souvenir shops and cafes as well inside.

A'DAM LOOKOUT
Karthik, Prashaanth

LOOKOUT 360ยบ Amsterdam is an iconic viewing point in The Netherlands - A’DAM LOOKOUT. For the daredevil in you, LOOKOUT has a further kick with a swing on the roof top that takes you out of the sky. This is Europe’s highest swing. There is a cafe as well at the top, though quite costly, quite timely to help the evening at the top.

Great time guaranteed in summer evenings. This tower gives a grand view of the city of Amsterdam. Entrance fee is 13.50 Euros and one for 19.50 Euros with 2 drinks and a souvenir. There is a phone booth - one inclusive in the entrance fee. Then, get to go in a fast lift with nice lights ! 100m in 8 secs.

Then, the lookout area to view the city. There is a swing - 5 euros per person and need to be booked in advance. We could not do the swing. There is a cafe as well at the top - drinks and light snacks.

Overall, one can plan to spend 2-3 hours in an evening. Don't miss it !
