UK - Greenwich

Timeline - July 2018
Tripmates - Karthik, Siva, Gopu

Greenwich by Thames is nice plan to spend evenings. One can walk around the tall buildings and visit the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Greenwich market is also a traditional local area to visit.

The prime meridian - zero longitude is based at the Royal Observatory. The park and the hill to climb is open for all at all times. The observatory, where you get to see the line and the museum inside requires you to buy 15 Pounds entry fee. Plan for atleast 1 hour inside to take photographs and know the facts behind defining the zero longitude. Though time and sun dials were in prominent use for long time in India, GMT was documented to hold zero longitude as reference to time.

One gets to see many items used during the reference in museum.

Local market - close to the Cutty Sark station for Greenwich. This place is a timekiller to buy local items, veggies and food.

UK - More of London

More of London ...

We as friends visited London few times in weekends and evenings. The walk through different bridges across Thames, Trafalgar square and several eateries by Leicester, Piccadilly and all around Big Ben are always exciting.

The Golden Jubilee Bridges connect the pedestrians to move across Thames between Waterloo side to Embankment station. One gets into the street food eatery side from Waterloo station and uses this bridge to reach the Embankment side. This is a great bridge giving excellent photography opportunities. Nice walk across Thames at leisure as this is pedestrian only bridge.

The place buzzes with lot of radiance after the Sunset. London lives here! The area is filled with lots of restaurants, illuminated landmarks, bars, pubs and clubs. One can walk around the whole place for nice experience of London night life. There are some restaurants and ice cream shops also open across nights to early morning to give you energy to enjoy the night life.

NL - Keukenhof

Timeline - May 2018
Tripmates - Solo

Keukenhof - The Tulip garden to visit atleast once in lifetime. I went on the last day of the season of 2018 and not so bad.

Though the fields were all empty, the garden had some Tulips beholding the colourful feel. I bought the 18 Euro entrance ticket at he Schipol airport the previous day fearing long queues the next day as it was last day. Reached by bus from the Schipol airport to Keukenhof by 8:30 and roamed all around at will. There are housed displays across hosting exotic flower collections and great photographic opportunities if you are attracted towards flowers.

Colourful Tulips and windmills give nice mingling with nature and once can just get lost with it. Overall, spent couple of hours. There are some souvenir shops and cafes as well inside.
